Adopted in Dreams

Dreaming of being adopted can be a powerful symbol of the uncertainty and confusion that you may be experiencing in your waking life. This dream suggests that you may be questioning the reasons behind certain actions that have been taken against you and that there may be a void in your life that has yet to be filled.

When you dream of being adopted, it is important to pay attention to the emotions and sensations that you experience in the dream. Do you feel a sense of abandonment or rejection? Or do you feel grateful and appreciated by the adoptive family that has taken you in? These emotions can provide valuable insight into the subconscious motivations and desires that are driving your behavior.

One common interpretation of an adoption dream is that it represents a search for identity and a desire to understand your roots. If you have questions about your birth history or feel a sense of uncertainty about your place in the world, this dream may be a manifestation of these feelings. In this case, it may be helpful to backtrack your birth history and seek out information about your family tree.

For example, imagine that you have always felt a sense of disconnection from your family and have always wondered about your biological parents. You may dream that you are being adopted into a new family, representing the desire to find a sense of belonging and to connect with your roots. This dream may be a sign that it is time to take action and to seek out answers to the questions that have been plaguing you.

Another possible interpretation of an adoption dream is that it symbolizes a sense of gratitude and appreciation for the people who have taken you in as family. If you have been fortunate enough to have a supportive and loving adoptive family, this dream may be a manifestation of the love and gratitude that you feel towards them. In this case, it is important to take the time to appreciate these people and to show them how much they mean to you.

For instance, imagine that you were adopted as a child and have been raised by a loving family who has provided you with stability, security, and unconditional love. You may dream that you are being adopted into a new family, representing the appreciation and gratitude that you feel towards the people who have taken you in as their own. This dream may be a sign that it is time to express your gratitude and to show your adoptive family just how much they mean to you.

In summary, dreaming of being adopted can be a powerful symbol of the uncertainty and confusion that you may be experiencing in your waking life. Whether you are searching for identity, seeking to understand your roots, or simply appreciating the people who have taken you in as family, this dream can provide valuable insight into the unconscious mind.

  1. I often fantasize that I’m adopted or that I’m an abused foster child that gets saved and adopted ( usually by one of my favorite TV characters) usually my fantasies don’t involve a father figure

I’ve been having these dreams about myself getting adopted again by a whole new family but the family is both female parents adopting me or a mother & father figures adopting me or even just one single parent female adopting me the past as of 3 year’s I have lived in a foster home & I’m 16 year’s old I have tried Looking up dreams about being adopted again by a new family only no luck since that is the dream I have centered around adoption though yes i also want to be adopted again as well but so no luck there but I just want a real family again & I do like it here in the foster but I am an only child in this foster home which totally sucks being an only child here when I’m used to having siblings to

  5. I had a dream that a very old crush from elementary adopted me. I was very happy but wondered why he would choose me. I told him he was able to change my name, how I acted ect, almost like adopting an animal. He didn’t want to change anything, said I was fine the way I was. In the dream we had to keep the adoption a secret for many people were against it, for I was too old to be adopted. I’m very confused on this dream and it doesnt feel like those dreams that feel real. I know it was just a dream, but I do feel as if it was a metaphor for telling me something that I either forgot or didn’t realize.

  6. I had a dream last night it was so real! I dreamt that my Mom and Dad adopted me from one of their friends. The friend is still alive and she is showing me pictures of my real dad who was a lot younger than her but I wasn’t allowed to tell him that I was his daughter. I kept talking to her and They couldn’t take care of me so they gave me to my mom and dad. My brothers knew about it but kind of forgot about it as they had gotten older. It was the strangest dream I have ever had in my life. It was so real that I wanted to pick up the phone and call and neither one of them are alive in real life . Then as I was looking at pictures I was thinking that wow I really don’t look like my brothers or mom or dad ( I know that isn’t true). Then I started seeing how I was looking like her and this guy whoever he was.

  8. I had a dream of my dad confessing it to me on the phone that I’m adopted 7 months after I was born when I confronted him in absolute rage. My mum however did not respond to the question & chose not to answer & that’s where I woke up ready-eyed.

  9. I had a dream that my choir conductor, from a while back, was my biological father… & for some reason, my 3rd grade teacher was in my dream as well. She was the one that confirmed that I am adopted & told me who my biological father.. The most heartbreaking part of my dream was when I confronted my mom about it, she didn’t deny it all. Instead, she asked, “How do you know?”.. Then I woke up. Which, I’m glad I did, bc I didn’t want to continue on with that dream lol

  11. I had a dream that I was adopted. I got to meet my birth mother and she was really awesome. But when I asked her why she gave me up she told me she knew she could never really love me. I wanted her love and approval. Then I met my birth father. He was such an amazing guy and I just hugged him and didn’t want to let go. I never really thought what it would be like to have a dad that loved me (my father is not involved in my life by my choice). Even though, in reality, I love my mom… I almost wish the dream was real just so I could have that dad. I loved him and he loved me and I wasn’t scared of him.

  12. I have had several dreams that I was adopted. I feel uncomfortable and out of place when around any of my family. I feel like everyone knows something that I don’t. When I ask questions about my childhood noome has answers. Noone has baby pictures of me. All the pictures are from when I was about 2 and up. I ask my mom how much I weighed, what time I was born, etc and she couldn’t tell me. Nothing makes sense. Things aren’t adding up. I have never had a relationship with my mother. I don’t even look at her as my mother. I have this want and need for a mother daughter relationship that I’ve never had and long for. I’m so confused
