Parakeet in Dreams

Hey there, dreamer! It seems like you had a captivating dream about a parakeet, which can represent your expectation of guidance from a higher force. Let’s explore some hidden truths and symbolic meanings behind your dream, focusing on taking ownership, meeting expectations, and the roles you play in your life.

Firstly, your dream might be telling you that instead of waiting for messages or guidance from a higher force, it’s time for you to take control of your life. Are you currently seeking guidance in any area of your life? One dreamer shared a story about finding a compass in their dream, symbolizing their search for direction. If this resonates with you, consider exploring your intuition and trusting yourself to make the right decisions.

Another possible interpretation is that the parakeet in your dream symbolizes your own expectations. The dream could be urging you to meet and exceed these expectations in various aspects of your life, such as work, relationships, and personal responsibilities. Are there any areas where you feel like you could do more? One person dreamt of climbing a staircase, symbolizing their efforts to reach higher levels of achievement.

Your dream also suggests the importance of taking ownership of the jobs you do, the relationships you establish, and the responsibilities you have committed to. This could be a reminder that you have the power to shape your life and create the outcomes you desire. Are you taking charge of your life and embracing your responsibilities? One dreamer recalled a dream where they were building a house, symbolizing their active role in constructing their own reality.

Lastly, it’s essential to consider the context of your dream and the emotions it evokes. The parakeet could represent a combination of the themes mentioned earlier or symbolize something entirely different based on your unique experiences and feelings. One dreamer described a dream where they were flying with a flock of birds, symbolizing their journey of self-discovery and personal growth. Reflect on your dream and ask yourself what emotions and thoughts it brings up for you.

To help you uncover the hidden truths and symbolic meanings in your dream, you might want to ask yourself some questions. What is happening in your life right now that could be related to the themes of taking ownership, meeting expectations, or seeking guidance? Are there any situations or relationships where embracing these qualities could be beneficial? And most importantly, how does this dream make you feel?

By asking yourself these questions and reflecting on your dream, you’ll likely gain a deeper understanding of the hidden messages and symbols. Dreams are unique and personal experiences, and only you can truly uncover the meaning behind them. Use your dream as a guide towards growth, understanding, and self-discovery. Embrace the journey and allow the insights from your dream to help you navigate your waking life.

  1. My dream was about a beautiful blue parakeet that was first in a cage and my cat was attacking it. I was able to save it. Then the cage was open and it got out of the cage. I had to catch it and put it back in the cage. Then it was playing and laying on its back in sand in its cage.

    • The parakeet is a symbol of your inner self, your spirit and your soul. The bird is a representation of your essence, the part of you that is unique and distinct. The blue color of the bird suggests that you are experiencing a sense of peace and tranquility in your life. But the presence of the cat indicates that there are forces that are trying to harm you. The cat could represent external influences or even internal struggles that are causing you pain.

By saving the parakeet from the cat’s attack, you are demonstrating your ability to protect your inner self from harm. You have a natural instinct to guard your soul from negative influences. This is an important message for you to remember as you navigate your waking life.

As the dream continues, the cage that once confined the parakeet is opened, and the bird is free to roam. This is a sign that you are breaking free from the constraints that have held you back in the past. You are beginning to explore new possibilities and discover new aspects of yourself. The parakeet is your spirit guide, encouraging you to spread your wings and soar to new heights.

However, you must also be mindful of the need for boundaries. Just as the bird had to be caught and put back into the cage, there are times when you must protect yourself by setting limits. It’s essential to recognize when you need to reign in your impulses and remain grounded.

Lastly, the dream shows the parakeet playing and lying on its back in the sand within its cage. This is a representation of your ability to find joy and contentment, even in confinement. You have the ability to create happiness within yourself, regardless of your external circumstances.

This dream is a message that you possess the power to protect and nurture your inner self, to break free from constraints, and to find joy and contentment within yourself. Trust your instincts, guard your soul, and be mindful of your boundaries. With these lessons in mind, you can navigate your waking life with confidence and purpose.

  2. I had a dream about laying down in my bed talking on the phone and my pet parakeets blue and green got on the floor I’m not sure how they got the cage open but they were walking on the floor then flew up and got on my bed I was smiling curiously and with such confusion so I just called there names (I forgot what I called them) but I said get on my finger and they got on my finger and and looked up at me and were just being normal birds looking around and stuff then out of nowhere a tan brown cat came in grabbed one bird and ran but I was right on that cats tail but as I was reaching out it felt as if something was holding my upper arms back so I couldn’t reach out like I wanted so I ended up reaching my knee out to put pressure on the lower part of the cat and it spit the bird out and the bird had a small blood spot but she was fine then this golden retriever ran and got the other birdand the same thing happened and I was standing there and we all heard something coming from the kitchen that was behind me and I was afraid… We were all afraid like what could possibly be next but I held my birds tight and then I woke up (went right into prayer) I only have two parakeets no other pets not sure why this dream was.. But anyone have any ideas?

  3. I dreamt of leaving a parakeet in a severely hot car and when I remembered it was in the car went to retrieve it. When I did, it had a deathgrip on my finger with its claws and looked close to death. I gave it some water which it gulped down and then I woke up.

  4. I was at my grandparents house
I was staying in the room on the top floor right across from the bathroom
The room didn’t have anything in it beside a tv and a bunch of pillows
I was moving a doggie bed in the corner shaped like a bear 🐻 it had fallen off a cabinet. When I picked it up I could’ve sworn the cartoonish eyes blinked at me. I wasn’t shocked. Instead I apologized to it and said we will find it a nice place to rest very soon.
I went downstairs hoping to run into my uncle because I haven’t seen him yet. It was nightime. The only light came from the living room tv 📺
I saw a figure on the couch in front of the tv. When I went up to it I realized it was my grandpa. He was napping and was startled to see me up. When I startled him a bunch of birds that were perched on him flew all over the place. The birds were small green tropical birds 🐦. I lent my left arm out for the birds to land out. A white parakeet landed on my hand while I raised it out. On my arm out I had noticed some silver symbols down my forearm. They look like they were Chinese symbols but they were flaking off as if It were those fake sticker tattoos you buy from those vending machines. (Note: my grandpa had passed away four years ago and it’s been a long time since his death that I had a dream about him. However when I saw him on the couch I wasn’t surprised at all he was there. It all felt familiar. I’ve been brushing up on my Chinese. I had learned it long ago in high school. It’s been 81 days straight I’ve been practicing on Duolingo and I believe I have became more used to it)

  5. I was at a school with my husband and some other friends. my husband wasn’t really interested in talking to me only two other women and other guys around him. a group of them walked out to the basketball courts so me and a group of women who were the agitated at our men began to walk outside to go find them. once outside it turned really dark and eerie and I said you guys I don’t have a good feeling they said nothing would happen and would be fine and then I say no I don’t have a good feeling and then we all looked up and I seen a giant pack of angry parakeets find very quickly towards us. I turned around till we learn and one came within an arm’s length and I grabbed it and held it in my hands while I continue to run. I’m not sure what happened to the other people I was with but it felt as if they were getting their eyes pecked out. When I was running towards the place we exited from the old lady opened on side of double doors so instead ran through there into a classroom filled with young school-age children. Toyota her to shut the door quickly and she did I look down at the car key in my hand and then I woke up. What I’m the world does this mean? Lol

  7. I have had this recurrent dream every 6 months or so for years. I semi-wake & suddenly realise that I have forgotten to feed an entire shed-full of caged budgies. In fact, I can’t even remember how long since I checked them. I am so panic-stricken that I want to get out of bed immediately to feed them. I tell myself it is only a dream, but it feels real. On other occasions, I dream that I do check on them. They are housed in tiny cages & many of them have died from lack of food or water. I am so upset & guilty. These little guys were utterly dependent on me & I failed them.
In reality, I am a passionate animal-lover & dislike birds being caged unless they are large aviaries. The sadness & guilt of this dream stays with me for hours, & whenever I remember it. I know that it would be easy to say that there is something in my life that I am neglecting – but I honestly don’t know what.

    • Perhaps what you are neglecting is a part of yourself that you sometimes forget about. Look within yourself and be sure to take care of even the small things. Nurture yourself.

  9. I have two handsome parakeets named Blu and Sweets and this morning I had a dream that Blu came and perched on my chest while laying on the coach. He tolerates me but never does he sit on me willingly on how own (lol) I was happy he was comfortable with me in the dream but flustered as to “why now?” I remember gently wiggling my body and talking loudly to see if he would fly away but he didn’t. He didn’t try to attack or fly away he just sat and looked. When I woke he was perched peacefully in his cage and it made me wonder what the dream actually means being that I am going through a life transformation for the better. I am realizing my worth even more than ever and taking control of my life and realizing I have only control of me, who I choose to deal with, what I choose to do etc. I’m also in the beginning stages of starting a business and accepting things for what they truly are. Hope this shines a little light or a good read for someone else 😉

  10. I have a recurring theme in my dreams of forgetting I have pets and being horrified to discover them in the basement, withering away because I have forgotten to feed them. Just now had a dream that I had forgotten a yellow and green parakeet. Her cage was small and there were two other dead parakeets on the floor of the cage as well as a dead sparrow. She was trying to bite me becauze she felt betrayed from neglect and scared with hunger. I rushed to find her fresh food and water and I quickly grabbed the dead birds and put them in a bag. After I had given her fresh food and water, I looked back at the cage to find it had filled with water. (I have fish in feal life) My brain had told me that I had absentmindedly thought I was cleaning one of the fish tanks and filled her with water. She was drowning. I reached in and started pumping her chest like CPR but it didn’t work. I tried to pat her on the back and some water shot out of her beak. I tried to make her stand and open her eyes but I woke up before I could save her.

    • Wow Sylvia – your dream is SO like mine. The guilt & sadness is overwhelming, isn’t it? I love my pets almost more than anything else & would never forget them for a moment. So my dream of forgetting the budgies/parakeets upsets me dreadfully. (I don’t have any). I wish I knew what my dream means & that I could stop having it.

  11. Mine is not a dream but a real sighting. We lost our 19 year old son Daniel to a car accident in July of 2016. Last Saturday I told my wife we should get a parakeet because she use to call our son little bird. I suggested a blue one because that was his favorite color. The next morning as I looked out our slider to the backyard a bird flew up to the glass and literally tapped it with its wings. It flew to the edge of the patio. When it landed I realized it was a blue parakeet. It stood there for 5 to 10 minutes just looking at me. It was an amazing confirmation/sign.

  12. Had a dream of a blue and white parakeet. Was playing with it and was with a friend and our cat. Cat and parakeet got along, enjoying the spring air through the window. Bird was happy and loved us giving it attention by rubbing the back of its head. It sang and before the initial invite..he called me to the other room by whistling..when bird called me into the next room..he barked at me. He was all white, then changed to blue and white. Was a very relaxing and comforting dream.

  13. I had a dream were 100s of parakeets clustered in a open roof top. Then outa no where around 5 or 7 vultures stared at him. Then outa no where they started to attack the parakeet, my response was to scare them away. I successfully scared them away and saw them fly above my head. When I turned around once again they where attacking the parakeet but this time they managed to get a few of them. I saw some of the parakeets bones, after I saw that I got angry, I started to hit the vultures. But one of them hit me with its wing in the head and I woke up.

  14. I was walking home from work and noticed a very sad neglected parakeet in a small tent (one you’d use for shade if you had a booth at an event) I’d have to walk home and then walk back to feed the bird. One day I went home gathered a banana, yogurt and some nuts to feed her, but I was too slow and by the time I got there she had died. This was over a 3 day span in my dream.

  15. I dreamed 2 blue parakeets with multicolored wings landed on me. 1 on my head and the other my arm. I noted their sharp claws and beaks but felt no pain or fear. There was another person there who may have owned them whom I talked to very briefly. Then the one on my head flew to a perch and the one on my arm flew away. I knew in the dream it didn’t go far and was fine with that.

Right before I went to sleep last night I asked God to guide me with a very difficult problem I’m having, I fell asleep and dreamt that I had 6 parakeets, 2 were mine in their own cage and the other 4 were in another cage, one of them had a large orange beak and this is unusual for parakeets. One of the 4 birds looked identical to one of mine and she went over to mine and just cuddled up to her. They all acted like normal birds and then the dream ended. Reading this makes me feel mocked because before I went to bed I did ask for a mighty power to guide me.

    • I read on a website that parakeets represent messages from angels and from above – it’s exactly from God…He was sending a message.

I put it inside a bird cage that held 2 smaller colored parakeets. the large yellow one moved to the bottom of the cage, while the 2 smaller ones were up higher ,huddled together in the upper part of the cage.

  23. Last night I had a dream that I was inside a room that had a lazy river all around. I was standing outside of the water while everyone else was swimming or getting in when I heard birds chirping. Next to me, there was a red macaw, african gray and red masked parakeets. They were on my arms and just hanging out having a grand old time. Then I looked to my right and on the ground there was a small fox that wanted me to pet it. It was like a puppy just wanting love.

So I’m like where’s tweety lol that’s what I named him. So I’m looking and looking then I look over towards the cut out in my window and he was right there.

  30. I had several weird dreams last night. The one that stood out was a green and blue parakeet that landed on my hand and dug into my skin when I tried to shoo it away. This dream stood out because I am afraid of birds but grew up with them. My great grandmother had several type of birds and the parakeets lived the longest. Eventually, I was able to be calm with the parakeet staying on my hand until I woke up. Idk if it matters, but I was outside kneeling on a large rock in a grassy area.

  31. This is so unbelievable, last night I dreamed of 3 blue parakeets perched in a thorny bush in a park I am not familiar with. I was able to pet them. They were calm and I felt at peace… However, as I was exiting this park I was being attacked or thought I was.. by all these small animals …Like baby raccoons, squirrels….some as cute as puppies…jumping up on my legs…one animal grabbed my finger….there were even these fish tiny silver in color all flapping about….so many… that it made me uncomfortable…..as I get to the road….I see a man who offered me a ride…He was someone I knew from my former workplace…..I asked him if he could hire me back for part time work….I than awoke…
( I was surprised to see the interpretation of the blue parakeets(….My husband had asked me to leave my job almost a year ago… he retired, (we are in 50s), I worked terrible hours, holidays and he liked me being part of the family……however I miss the independence of earning my own salary…and feeling like an individual… he treats me well, takes care of our family…I’m thinking this dream, is telling me to follow my feelings….and find another job…at least part time….

  32. My dream was awhile back, but one I never forgot.
It started I was at a gathering, at a place that was mine in a forest like setting, cabin like. All the windows were open I looked out a window, because I felt, in my dream slightly uncomfortable. I saw a couple of bears so I started to close the windows, I didn’t want them coming in I knew they might possibly be attracted to the scent of food. As I was doing this I came across a guest, a co-worker. She headed to toward the bathroom as she entered I came up behind her and shoved her head under water. She collapsed, I began to pick her up from the water as I did, she began to transform into a white/soft blue parakeet ( I once had a white/blue parakeet I loved very much) as she transformed in my hand she lost all her feathers, her eyes began to shut, I wrapped her in a towel and placed her in the freezer, where I believed she would be safe. She seemed to be asleep, and there she waits.
