Television in Dreams

To dream about television may be associated with different factors. Television is the most controversial medium in the media. Envisioning television in your dreams can be a indication of your desire for exposure and fame and to broadcast yourself to the public. Also dreaming about television is a indication that there are many constant thoughts that are flowing through your mind and it is processing and integrating those thoughts because your mind is replaying the programs of your conscious life.

  1. I just woke up from a pretty traumatic dream where me and my dad were watching some sort of children’s show that had cartoon skits with pretty morbid or just plain bizzare humor, such as a character opening a fortune cookie and finding out they are gonna die soon, and then a cartoon banana opening a fortune cookie and finding giant lips inside, missing them, and shattering like glass. Every once in a while distorted faces of what looked like side shed puppets would pop up on the screen for like three seconds and make strange noises. I remember that being the scariest part, aside from my shock when some sort of black and white bart Simpson character hangs himself while cartoon works watch him die. I woke up shaky and feeling like everything in my room was watching me and am currently listening to music to calm down. If you have any idea what this could mean please notify me, since I have kinda been in a confusing part of my life and want to figure out what is causing it. Thanks!

    • Imagine this scene as a grand theater, where each television set is a stage, and each person an actor absorbed in their unique drama. The number sixteen here is significant – it’s not just a random count, but a symbol of completeness or wholeness in many traditions. It suggests that the dream is about a comprehensive, multifaceted perspective on something.

The televisions, each showing a different program with a person intently watching, represent the diversity of viewpoints, experiences, and stories that make up our social and professional environments. Just as each person in your dream is focused on a different show, in life, each individual is engrossed in their own narrative, their own version of reality shaped by personal experiences, beliefs, and emotions.

Your role in the dream as an observer, counting the TVs, positions you as someone who is aware of this diversity. It might suggest a realization or a newfound awareness of the varied perspectives and narratives that exist around you, particularly in the context of your former workplace or in your broader social interactions. Perhaps it’s a reflection of your own evolving understanding of how different people can be, each absorbed in their own world, yet part of a larger social fabric.

The setting of the dream in a former coworker’s house is also telling. It hints at a connection between this theme of diverse perspectives and your past professional life. Maybe it’s a retrospective insight into the dynamics of your old workplace, or it symbolizes lessons learned from that phase of your career – lessons about understanding and appreciating different viewpoints and stories.

This dream might also be speaking to your own search for where you fit into this ‘multichannel’ world. With so many different narratives playing out, where do you find your own channel, your own story? It could be a subconscious exploration of your identity and beliefs amidst the multitude of perspectives you’ve encountered.

    • The television in your dream, being new and prominently featured, represents a new vision or perspective in your life. It’s big and black, symbolizing something significant and powerful in its potential to change the way you see things. The fact that it’s an LED TV, known for clarity and brightness, might suggest new insights or clarity coming into your life. However, the TV is off, indicating that these new insights or changes are still in a latent stage, full of potential but not yet realized.

Your actions in the dream, along with your sister-in-law, are especially telling. Moving the TV around in the drawing room suggests a search for the right place or the right way to integrate this new perspective into your life. The drawing room, often a place for guests and social interactions, could represent the social aspect of your life or how you present yourself to the world. The act of moving the TV around, then, might symbolize your efforts to find a balance between new changes or insights and how they fit into your social or family life.

The differing emotions between you and your sister-in-law in the dream are particularly noteworthy. Your happiness indicates acceptance and optimism about these new changes or perspectives. On the other hand, your sister-in-law’s lack of happiness could represent a part of yourself or someone in your life who is resistant to these changes. It’s a classic scenario of conflicting emotions or viewpoints when faced with change – one part of you is ready and excited, while another part, or someone close to you, might be hesitant or unsure.

    • Also, sorry to comment so much but I used to have this dream up until city grade that something was chasing me and it it caught me an invisible force would carry me away to an unknown place. I stopped having this dream around city grade, and I couldn’t find any sources about what it could mean, so if you have any idea I am very interested because city grade was a kinda crazy year! Thanks!

          • Let’s first delve into the dream you had about the children’s show with morbid cartoon skits. This dream, with its vivid and disturbing imagery, is like a surrealist painting, full of symbolism and hidden meaning. The children’s show, typically a symbol of innocence and simplicity, is contrasted starkly by the morbid humor and bizarre scenes. This juxtaposition could represent the conflict between your inner child and the realities of the adult world – a world where innocence is often clouded by more complex, sometimes darker truths.

The morbid fortune cookie scenes, the cartoon banana shattering like glass, and the distorted puppet faces making strange noises – all these elements symbolize the unpredictability and often inexplicable nature of life. They could reflect your feelings of confusion or anxiety about the world around you, especially during a confusing phase in your life. The dream seems to echo the chaos and unpredictability that you might be experiencing in your waking life.

The most jarring scene – the black and white character resembling Bart Simpson hanging himself – is particularly symbolic. It’s a stark depiction of loss of innocence or the end of a certain phase or aspect of your life. It’s as if your subconscious is dramatizing the internal struggles you are facing, perhaps a transition from one stage of life to another, or the shedding of old beliefs and the grappling with new, more complex realities.

Turning to the dream you had until 5th grade, where you were chased and then carried away by an invisible force, this too is a story told in the language of the subconscious. Being chased in a dream often signifies running away from or avoiding something in your waking life. This could be a fear, a challenge, or an emotional issue. The fact that this dream stopped around 5th grade, a time you describe as ‘crazy’, suggests that it was linked to the challenges or changes you were facing at that time. The ‘invisible force’ carrying you away might symbolize a loss of control or being overwhelmed by the changes or challenges during that period of your life.

Together, these dreams seem to be a reflection of your journey through different stages of life, each with its own set of challenges, fears, and transitions. The recent dream, with its unsettling and bizarre imagery, could be a manifestation of current uncertainties or anxieties you are facing. It’s as if your subconscious is using the language of dreams to process these feelings, to make sense of the chaos and complexities of life.

    • Imagine this dream as a still-life painting, capturing a moment in time, frozen yet full of hidden motion. Your sister, a central figure in this dreamscape, is not just a person; she embodies a part of your own psyche or represents an aspect of your life or relationships. Her youth and the act of sitting, watching television, suggest a state of passivity, observation, or perhaps a longing for simplicity and innocence.

The television in your dream is a particularly intriguing symbol. Often, TVs in dreams can represent how we view the world or receive information from external sources. Your sister’s engagement with the television might symbolize your own perception of life – perhaps a desire to be more observant, to take a step back and view your own life’s narrative as an observer rather than an active participant. It could also reflect a yearning for the simplicity and carefree moments of childhood, a time when responsibilities were few and the world seemed a simpler place.

This scene of your sister on the couch could also be a mirror reflecting your feelings towards her. Maybe it’s a protective instinct, a subconscious reminder of your role in her life as a guardian or guide. It could be highlighting your concerns about her – is she passive in her own life, merely observing rather than participating? Or perhaps it’s a reflection of your own wish to recapture the essence of childhood, as seen through her eyes.

    • The new TV, gleaming and full of potential, represents the new beginnings in your life. It’s not just an electronic device, but a symbol of your recent changes—like stepping into a new phase after your divorce and moving into a rental house. The TV, a conduit for stories, news, and entertainment, mirrors your own life, rich with stories yet to unfold and experiences waiting to be lived.

Now, consider the TV cabinet, which held your TV. In dreams, furniture often signifies our attempts to organize and control aspects of our lives. Your effort to move the cabinet suggests a desire to rearrange or control these new changes. But alas, the cabinet topples, and the TV shatters. This dramatic scene symbolizes the fragility of the new order you’re trying to establish. It’s a poignant reminder that even with the best intentions, some aspects of life are beyond our control. The shattered screen, in particular, could reflect fears or anxieties about the stability of your new situation, especially concerning your responsibilities as a parent and the well-being of your children.

The dream vividly portrays the emotional landscape of someone navigating through a significant life transition. There’s a sense of uncertainty, perhaps a fear of failure, mirrored in the breaking of something new and valuable. Yet, there is also a deeper, more hopeful interpretation. Just as a broken screen no longer shows a clear picture, your dream suggests that your current view of your situation might be clouded by anxieties and fears. It’s a nudge from your subconscious to reassess, to look beyond the immediate chaos and see the potential for growth and new beginnings.

Remember, in the realm of dreams, destruction often paves the way for creation. The shattered TV is not just an end, but also a beginning—a blank screen on which a new and hopeful narrative can be projected. It’s a call to embrace the changes, to find strength in the face of uncertainty, and to trust in your ability to navigate this new chapter of your life with resilience and grace.
