I was part of a really professional horse riding group, but my team mates couldn't show up because they were busy, or out of state. Only one other female member could perform with me on this 'big day'. All of the members had asigned horses, but me and my friend's horse couldn't be here with us, so they brang two other horses.<br /> I had to perform on stage with the most uncontrollable horse of the whole 'herd'. She (the horse) was a black horse, with a long blackish greyish mane that almost covered her eyes. Her eyes were a light brown that looked maroon in the light, making her look almost evil. In my mind, I thought that she was a seriously misunderstood horse, and the horse just needed someone to treat her well. All the other horseback riders were terrified of riding her, afraid that the horse might hurt them. For me, I wasn't afaid to ride her on the day we had to perform in front of a live audience. I guess in my dream this day was a really important day b/c the 'fate' of my team's career was in the palm of my hands. So as I try to take her out on stage, the horse wouldn't listen, and almost looked like her eyes were glowing red when it stared at me. But I stayed completely calm. If this were in real life, I wouldn't have gone close to a horse like that, but in my dream I was calm and collected, and I felt like I knew exactly what I was doing. The crowd was roaring, and many people were standing when we got on stage. My friend (I didn't get to see her face in the dream) got on her tan horse easily, while I tried to get on. I tried to swing my right foot over, but she deliberately jumped to her hind legs, making me fall. However, I didn't fall to the ground, and instead I held on, making my back lie on her back, with my legs hanging down on her side and my arms holding on like a guy puts his arm around a girl's shoulders. The black horse started running, trying to shake me off, but instead of ruining the performance, I acted like it was all part of the show, and I let her run, trying to make it look like a graceful dance. The crowd was mesmerized. The horse finally slowed down, and I got off to continue to the next routine. However, the horse was even more frustrated knowing that her efforts of ruining the show weren't paying off. So it tried to pull away from my grip, but I somehow calmed her down by petting her mane on the forehead saying, "Shhh, it'll be okay". Then for some reason I started counting 1, 2, 3, 4 over and over again. I started thinking like the horse, and the only thing I was aware of was the hypnotizing voice echoing through my ears. It was soothing, and reminded me of my mother when I was little. Everything around me turned black, and the only thing I saw/heard was the girl. Thinking like me again, I could see the horse's eyes, getting droopy. Then everything blacked out. The horse and I were in this sort of dressing room back stage, and I knew that the crowd loved it even though I didn't see it in my dream. I was giving the horse a pep talk, as if it understood me. I was saying, "No matter what the judge says, don't listen. Just ignore her if she laughs at you or says mean things. You were great, and that's all that matters." I don't really know what I was talking about either now that I type it up, but that's what happened. Then a woman who looked full of herself, waltzed into the room. She had blonde shoulder length hair with black sunglasses on her head. She was the judge I hated. She said, "Hey, you're that dancing horse aren't you? That stuff was hilarious. The people loved it! We are on opposite sides of the house and I've just woken up it's a bright morning. I'm not dressed yet or ready for the day. I walk into the living room and big vicious dogs are on the porch. They see me and and begin ramming windows and doors to try to break in. I first try to pull the screen to cover them up, but we need to know where they are. I run to the other side of the house where my sister is (the living room is in the middle) and I am protective of her. She is in the master bedroom and there is a bathroom with a small window facing the patio where the dogs are and also a closet. We decide that the dogs haven't broken the glass yet, so I will run to my side of the house and to gather contact lenses and a cell phone. She is to stand by the bedroom door and warn me if the dogs come. (The door is very hard to close and latch, you have to push on it.) Then we will shut the door and hide in the darker bedroom and if they get in we will go to the even darker bedroom closet. It will be safe in there and there is no plan beyond this. I call to her to see if she's ok and she screams because she's worried about me. Her scream echoes into the bathroom and the dogs hear and leap at the less strong window and it shatters. I wake up. The house is not one I've lived in before, but has certain familiar attributes. My sister and I are are real ages: early twenties. I find this dream bothering because I like dogs and sunshine and I seem to be fleeing from them. I had this dream last night during a thunderstorm and realized when I woke up that the thunder was the noise of the dogs ramming the windows. I've had a very similar dream once a couple of months ago. In that dream there was also dogs chasing my sister and myself (maybe one other person) in a big empty house and I was trying to take initiative to protect her. I think in that dream it was nighttime and the house was in a sort of disrepair. The house in this dream last night seemed normal and tidy.
