I had a dream that a woman gave me 3 checks. The checks were on government stock paper (the statue of liberty was on the background of the check). The check on top had the numbers 49.90 I am pretty sure. The woman was paying me for watching her son. I tried to give the checks back and tell her it was to much for him to hang out and play games with the other children for only a couple of hours but she walked just turned and walked out the front door.
I am not a daycare provider. I am a graduate school student. I know numbers have a lot of meaning in the bible. Does anyone have any insight?

3 Checks and Numbers

It may be that you will be coming into some money soon. Or, the dream could be telling you that you are well suited to work in childcare. Both meanings have merit and are something to think about.
However, I believe that most of our dreams are not meant to be taken literally. In my opinion, most of our dreams are symbolic personal messages to the dreamer. This, I believe, is what we have here.
Now for the dream –
In real life, the money that we receive is welcomed. It lets us add things to ourselves. The same is true in our dreams but on more of a spiritual or psychological (s/p) level. Dream-money strengthens us and gives us s/p power.
The Statue of Liberty is on the check. Thus, you are being given more liberty or freedom. This might refer to increased financial freedom or it might be increased spiritual freedom. So, what is this “increased spiritual freedom”? Not too sure (yet) but maybe the rest of the dream might give us a hint.
There are three checks. You might say that there is a trinity of checks.
A little aside about trinities –
The very word “trinity” suggests a religious interpretation. And, as the reader may know, there are numerous trinities in different religions. There is Christian Trinity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. But, there are also other trinities and triple deities. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triple_deity
But, the grouping of three individuals is not limited to religions. It is also found in many folk stories and fairy tales. In these stories, we often see the conflict of three against one. It might be that there are three who are bad and one who is good. Contrariwise, it might be three good against one bad. For examples, we have the stories of The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf, and there is the story of Cinderella with a good father (who is not seen) and the two evil stepsisters and the evil stepmother.
However, in slightly gentler stories, one group is not necessarily evil but is, instead, misunderstood. The story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears probably fall into this category. In this story neither Goldilocks nor the Three Bears come across as being evil. They are just misunderstood.
So what is the point of all this rambling about fairy tales and such? Bear with me and I believe that you will see what I am getting at.
Back to the dream --
The existence of three checks implies that they are payments for three separate jobs. Could it be that the checks were for watching three children? If so, why was only one son mentioned? I believe that the children are archetypes from the collective unconscious.
I believe that the top check if for the taking care of the boy while the other two checks are for taking care of two other children – especially if they are girls.
A little aside about the four ego functions --
Using the theories of the late Carl Jung, these four people – you and the three children – are personifications of the four ego functions, which are also known as the four functions of consciousness. These four functions are thinking, feeling, sensation and intuition. They are the different ways that we view the world. Each function has its opposite function. Thinking is opposite feeling and intuition is opposite sensation. Thus, if your thinking function is consciously very strong, your feeling function is not.
One function (symbolized in the dream as you) is the dominant function. There is also another female function that would be an auxiliary function. That leaves us with two functions that are not consciously well developed – a male and a female. They would be the animus and the shadow, respectively. These last two people are symbols of archetypes from the collective unconscious.
Back to the dream –
Now we come to the meaning of the 49.90. I believe that the best way to look at this number is to see it as being a little less than 50. The number 50 = 2 x 5 x 5. I’m not sure about the meaning of the 2 but I have a good idea about the number 5. I usually associate 5 with the initiation into a higher s/p level.
Thus, the dream has a very positive ending.
Hope this helps.
