One of the most common dreams involving the dead is either a relative or a friend. And a lot of people struggle with their meaning. Some of this is caused by a situation that triggers the memories, and our brain will think about it unconsciously throughout the night.

Odd that the starter of this thread's name is billy since the kushtaka in my dream last night was my long lost lover: Billy. I say kushtaka because in native legends, the kushtaka were creatures that could take the form of the dead to lure you to go with them and then turn you into one of them and I have always been told that if you dream of the dead, never to go with them because you could die in your sleep. Some say that dreams are not just things in our heads but actually another plane of existence where some things really are happening. I don't know what I believe, I've heard of astral projection and all of those things but the few times I had a dream about someone who was gone, nothing ever happened. Maybe I just never went with them. When I dream of Billy, it never looks exactly like him and I always know he is dead and ask him why he is there and if he really was dead. He never talks in the dreams and always acts strange. Once he did speak actually I recall the first dream but he looked kinda robotic in some way and told me he had been in a vehicle accident and everyone just said he was dead and that's why he looked different now. Last night, he didn't speak to me and looked like him but didn't seem to be him. I was all in shock and wanted to kiss him and he backed away and didn't try to make me come with him or anything. Who knows what it means I guess.

is slightly different than himself. Last night, I wanted to kiss him but he backed away. I asked him repeatedly why he was there because I knew he was supposed to be dead.
