The following dream is not my dream but was posted by Hanood. For some reason, I am unable to post in the Islam in Dreams section. Therefore, as a courtesy to him (?), I am posting my interpretation here.

i had a dream that me and my parents were sitting with and old ill man, he was kind in heart and a very known good man, we were talking to him and while talking he said i have done so many good things in life and i am very good to people I’m always there for the needy, and then he said but i am not a believer of god, i said how can that be how can you not question your life and the universe and how why is this world created, then i explained to him about how we are on earth by telling him the story of Adam and eve, also telling him why this universe was created, in my dream i woke the next mourning and i asked my dad were is the old man and my dad said he past away i asked my dad did he ashhad (did he say ashahdu lailaha illalah) my dad said no, i was very upset because i wanted him to be a believer of god before he dies, then i see his dead body as a dead fish. can some one tell me wat it means?

Now for my interpretation --
Using the theories of the late Swiss psychologist Carl Jung, the people in this dream would come from your unconscious – more specifically, the collective unconscious, which is the origin of most of our dream symbols. The collective unconscious is the source of archetypes, which appear in our dreams as symbols.
Your parents sound like they may be symbols of syzygy. This is the joining of opposites and is almost a good sign in a dream. Such a couple invariably appears as a man and a woman. This symbol sometimes goes by more familiar names such as the Divine Union, the Royal Couple, the Sacred Marriage etc.
The sick old man is also a part of you. He sounds like he might be a mana personality. The MP can be either male or female. However, in the dreams of men, the mana personality is always another male. He would be the Great Father or the Wise Old Man archetype. You should strive “to integrate it into your consciousness. This means enriching your life with a wisdom that is not accessible to intellect but comes from the unconscious. It also means that from now on, conscious and unconscious are no longer seen as opposites, but as two cooperating and complementary parts of one and the same psyche.” http://www.mythsdreamssymbols.com/mana.html
The old man also reminds me of the Fisher King. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fisher_King
His death reflects the dreamer’s turning away from religion. The dead fish supports this and also supports the symbolism of the Fisher King. Although fish have long been associated with Christianity, it is also a symbol of religion and the spiritual.
Hope this helps.
