Ankh in Dreams

Dreaming of an ankh means power and eternal wisdom. These two gifts are bestowed by the sacred ankh symbol to anyone who embraces it. Eternal wisdom will guide you in acquiring large amounts of wealth and powerful relations. The power granted will guide you in executing plans with full confidence and without fail.

An ankh in a dream also signifies the union of masculine and feminine energies. This is often seen as the unification between heaven and earth, or as a type of key to unlock one’s full potential.

Lastly, dreaming about an ankh often signifies that there is something you need to do or achieve before you will be able to move on with your life. For instance, the ankh can signify that there is still more work to do in order to complete a project or examination.

    • Let’s imagine for a moment that your dream is a play set on a stage. You, as a ghost, represent a part of yourself that feels unseen or unheard. This could reflect feelings in your waking life where you might feel overlooked or as if your voice isn’t being heard. The setting in your grandparent’s house is also significant. Homes in dreams often symbolize our mind or our inner self. Returning to your grandparent’s house could suggest a connection to your past, your heritage, or lessons learned from older generations.

Now, the nuns in the coffin are a particularly intriguing element. Nuns often represent spiritual authority, devotion, or moral values. Seeing them alive in a coffin could symbolize aspects of your own beliefs or values that you thought were dormant or ‘dead’ but are still very much ‘alive’ within you. The dual presence of life and death in this symbol might be reflecting a conflict between old beliefs and new understandings in your life.

Your interaction with your grandfather is a poignant moment in this dream play. Your grandfather, who can’t see you, might symbolize parts of your life or aspects of yourself that you feel disconnected from. His inability to see you, despite your desperate attempts to get his attention, could mirror a feeling of helplessness or frustration in trying to connect with certain aspects of your heritage or past.

The ankh cross given to you by your grandfather is a powerful symbol. In many cultures, the ankh represents life, eternal life, or rebirth. This could be interpreted as a message from your subconscious, suggesting that you have the power to overcome challenges or to bring new life to aspects of yourself that you thought were gone.

The confrontation with the grim reaper, a universal symbol of death and the inevitable, is quite dramatic. In chasing and attacking the grim reaper, you’re actively confronting your fears or anxieties. The grim reaper’s action of calling your name and kicking you in the back could represent unexpected challenges or setbacks that catch you off guard in your waking life.

Your dream, woven together with symbols of the past, spiritual questioning, and confronting fears, suggests a journey of self-discovery and reflection. Perhaps, in your waking life, you’re being called to revisit your roots, to reassess old beliefs, and to confront fears or challenges with the strength and resilience symbolized by the ankh cross.

  2. I had the weirdest dream of my life. I dreamt my ex came to visit one day and and we were hanging out until my mom came and we got into a fight so my mom and I kicked her out but on the way out I saw her walking with a child and I thought it was my brother so I got the child but it turned out I had no idea who the child was but when I looked into the next room I saw my brother running into a portal or something with purple cosmic light with a giant ankh in the middle and my mom was chasing after him and I was left watching so confused because I couldn’t tell if that was actually my bother this time and now I’m thinking maybe it was just a younger me. The weirdest part is the next day my ex did come to visit.

  3. I had a dream where I hurt someone psychically even though I didn’t want to and they where trying to hurt me back but then we became friends. In the end he told me “I’ll be your ankh until your life isn’t in pieces” and I stood there thinking he’ll have to be with me forever.

  4. So, when I was about 7 or 8, I saw an Ankh when I was dreaming. I don’t know how because I had never seen on before in my life(when I was little), and it always felt really important. It’s been ten years since that dream and I still think about it. I know it has a deeper meaning but I don’t know what.

  5. As a child I dreamt of what I thought to look like a cross.
I drew it on paper after my dream of it.
I looked for this “cross” for years as I wanted to put on a necklace and wear around my neck.
    With no luck
I had forgotten about it as I am in my late 40s now.
I was watching a show tonight called the pyramid code.
To my amazement I saw it being held by a man.
    It is called ankh
What in the world is the meaning of my dream as a small child of this symbol?
    Thank you

  9. I dreamt, I’m attending a seminar on Egyptian symbols. I can see the ankh in the leaflet provided for the seminar but refer to it as the ‘eye of horus’
The man leading the seminar is telling the audience how he escaped death-that he was in a car accident, thrown out of the car and burnt alive but his body self healed within seconds. He seemed to be saying after this experience he could now see symbols all around him. The lady with him, is showing us slides about the symbols she can see. One is of a cone shape with a flat side, it is floating in the sky. She’s asking if I can see it-I can but I assumed it was a UFO. I’m telling her, I’ve been seeing numbers for a long time, like; 11:11, 13:13, 09:11, 14:14, 10:10 but she doesn’t listen.
The man is now ending the seminar and telling us he became a criminologist after his accident. I’m thinking I should do the same if I can help people. He’s showing us a video portraying he is on the run from certain ‘people’ as he can see ‘things’
    The alarm woke me up!

  10. I was two characters and shifted perspective between the two. I started as a cloaked man in a forge taking hot rods out of the furnace. Other people were being branded in the background. I went to brand another man but he put up his hands. I branded the palms of his hands and became that man. I looked at my hands. The symbol was clearly an ankh on each though the branding was more prominent on one side as equal pressure had not been applied. I expected weeping burns but it healed in front of my eyes. Then powerful white beams of light shone out from each Palm. I didn’t understand the symbol.

  11. In my dream I’m outside in what “feels” like an old childhood neighborhood of mine. I cant recall any scenery such as trees, cars, houses, etc. I just remember being outside talking with my aunt(moms baby sister) and Im facing West and kept looking at the sky because the clouds were so thick and white…rhen all of a sudden I see an object coming through the clouds flying very fast and coming directly towards me! I get a little nervous but curious. Im trying to make out what rhis is coming towards me..The object flies straight into my hands and thats when I see its an old tennis racket made of real wood and yarn or wool.
However, I kept calling it and feeling as if it was an ankh. Then I noticed another object coming through the clouds that was burnt orange or like reddish orange in color that looked like a Swiffer mop head..rectangular in shape and about the same size as a Swiffer head..but this object flies right past me at super speed. Then I feel energy or vibration coming from the racket Im holding..this energy is so strong that I’m being lifted off rhe ground as if something is pulling this racket out of my hand…but I am determined not to let it go…I ground myself…keep the racket and me and my aunt go back to her house where I begin to teach our family about the Ankh..

  12. I had a dream of a man holding a staff with the Ankh at the top. And I heard the words ” All of November will be dark”, then it was like I was intentionally awoken. It was 4:35 am. Like I was supposed to stick it to memory. I went to the bathroom and kept thinking what was the symbol on the staff? What does it mean? Fell back asleep. At 6 am, I was told, it is an Ankh. Again awoke immediately. That was it!!! Could not sleep anymore. God was definitely telling me something. I have NO doubt. Now as to what or how He wants me to do /prepare/ share, etc… I am not sure. I must be open minded. I actually have been researching the ankh all morning. Scepters, staffs with it…. it dates back to early Egyptian days apparently. It means eternal life. I never even knew what it was. And had it only been a dream of the ankh I would accept this interpretation. However… I clearly heard the words “All of November will be dark” So there is definitely more to it than this explanation.

      • I had a dream of being given an ankh by who I believe to be an angel. The ankh itself was very beautiful with a round deep red marbel style center. This dream took place in a light filled white room, with seats arranged like it is in an airport … Just all white .. This dream came when I was having a few other dreams of end times.

          • Your dream, in which you were given an Ankh but devoid of its usual color and light, is a fascinating and symbolic vision. The Ankh is an ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic symbol often known as the “key of life” or “cross of life”, representing life and immortality. However, the absence of color and light in your dream’s Ankh adds a unique layer of interpretation.

In this dream, the Ankh, traditionally a vibrant and powerful symbol of life and vitality, appearing colorless and without its characteristic light, could symbolize a feeling of life or vitality that feels lacking or diminished in some way in your waking life. It’s like having a key, the Ankh in this case, but finding that it doesn’t open the doors you expected, or it opens them differently than you anticipated.

Being given this colorless Ankh might represent a phase in your life where you are searching for meaning, purpose, or a sense of vitality. The lack of color and light in the Ankh suggests that while you are on a path or have the tools for a meaningful life (as the Ankh traditionally symbolizes), there might be something essential missing or unclear in this pursuit. This dream could be inviting you to reflect on what gives your life color and light. It’s asking you to consider what aspects of your life need more vibrancy or a renewed sense of purpose. Maybe there are passions, relationships, or goals in your life that have lost their color and need reinvigorating.

  13. I do not remember much, this is because I saw it in my dream while I was in elementary. I am now in high school. All I remember is seeing the Ankh. I think that I was holding it, and I also think that I saw the Anubis in this dream. To this day, I still sometimes see a grey wolf in my dreams, that looks like a gray, more grotesque version of the Anubis. It always ends up attacking me. Does anyone have an answer for either of these, and if they are somehow connected?

  14. I was walking in ruins, I don’t even know if I was myself or if I was looking through someone else’s eyes…whoever I was, I was wearing a lime green dress and had black and brown sandals on. I had my hands in front of me just walking through this huge wasteland and around my wrists were jade green thick bracelets and hanging from them were two very large Ankhs…I felt like I was almost floating through this place and I kept my hands just almost arms length out.

And I don’t know if this even matters but my boyfriends cat laid on my back the whole night and at my feet as well… He normally stays outdoors so anyways just wanted to add that.
    Thank you

  15. In my dream I was at a clinic waiting for my boyfriend to finish work stuff. (He’s in the medical field.)– Any who, while I was in the waiting room a woman and I started chatting. She asked me, “Who are you waiting for?” I replied and nodded my head towards my partner across the room, “I’m with him.” She smiled and said, “Oh wow he’s very handsome.” (: I smiled at her giggling like a little girl and replied “thank you!” then my boyfriend walked up and said “Okay sweetie ready to go.” I got up out of the chair and looked back at the older woman to say “Nice talking with you!” but as I started to walk away I noticed something on the floor. It was the pendant of my Ankh necklace that I always wear. I picked it up and realized my ankh was still on the chain on my neck. This Ankh pendant in my hand looked just like mine but it wasn’t. I looked back at the woman and reached out to her with the pendant as to hand it to her and asked, “Is this yours?” Her face grew so serious. She cupped my hand in her hands. Looking me straight in the eyes with the most piercing serious gaze and said “This is your good luck charm. NEVER take this off.”

Do you think there’s a deeper meaning to this? I talked with my family about it…they said it’s a sign.

  16. My dad’s parents died before I was born.I often wondered what they would be like though and my dad was never around to tell me much about them…I knew that my grandfather was in the navy though. I’ve had dreams of other dead relatives where I’ve felt like they we’re visiting me but never my dad’s parents. Anyways I just had a dream last night that I was swimming in a pond with my mom…and I was happy and then a Man came up and said he was my grandfather but (it didn’t look like him…not even the same race) I don’t know whether he had been reincarnated or whether it was somebody passing a message like a medium…so anyways I decided to write him a letter bc I was happy to be contacting him bc I had never met him…so I’m writing him a letter and the whole tine my mom is standing there telling me all these mean hateful things to write and I was just like why? I don’t wanna right that? I don’t even know him to be angry why would you say that? Anyways somehow he ended up showing me a little metal button/pendant of an anchor and in the center of the anchor was the ankh like the two symbols were one…I looked in my dream book at all the main parts of the dream and have came up with my own interpretation of what it means…

  17. I was swimming in the ocean and was joined by friends and family. one brought my daughter out to me. My daughter just about one (1) doesn’t swim yet and we were all pretty for out near some rock barriers. The ocean water began to come from different angles and I remember from growing up at the beach and going through El Nino~ that that wasn’t good. So, I explained to everybody, “let’s get out of the water, it’s beginning to get strong current”. They insisted it was fine. Then the waves came large. My mother was swimming next to me. I was holding my daughter when a huge wave came and I could only see the top of it as it hit the ocean in front of me, which meant that we were all under the wave as it was about to crash on top of us. So I took a deap breath crasped my baby’s body and head, put my mouth over her nose and dunked under the water. It shook us good and everything spun under the water as I put my air into my daughter’s nose. For some reason, I was able to help her breath by me breathing in and out into her nose. I began to kick and swim to the surface, but I didn’t know which way it was. I let my body go limp as she began to wiggle. I saw the light and floated to it with a small kick. As we came out of the water, I found several people had come to help and I passed off my baby. Somebody mentioned my mother hadn’t come out yet. So I went back under and she was at the floor of the ocean, out. Somebody grabbed her and brought her out. My mother wasn’t my mother, but an Ankh ( large one). NObody would perform CPR on my mother (the Ankh), they said it was to late. I argued with them and said, “it’s not to late, something could still be done!” At that time the outside became and inside of a dark room of some sort and to me in my dream the Ankh was my mothers lifeless body and she just laid there…gone. Then I woke up.

  18. In my dream I was being chased by the Greek God of the Underworld, Hades, and for some reason he was throwing ankhs at me. He chased me throgh some ,sort of old town. When I was able to lose him I ended up in an outdoor mall of some sort. Then I saw my ex boyfriend with two girls, a tall brunette and a short blond girl. They then took me to their “secret hiding place”, which was an old mansion, and we got there through a secret underground sewage/tunnel thing. When we got there my ex took me into one of the many rooms, where there was an old fashion tv playing a black and white movie. We talked for a while, then kissed for a long time. That when I woke up.
