Cave in Dreams

Dreaming of a cave is a meaning of being potentially stuck or lost. A cave offers little to no light so if one dreams of a cave, this is perhaps a sign that you are within that cave. You search and try to find your way out, but it is a difficult task. There is little hope, as it requires someone who has been in the cave before and knows their way around to navigate through it and help guide you to safety. A cave offers concealment and protection from the rest of the world. This can represent your yearning to hide yourself away until you are ready to come out and face others.

  1. Mine involved myself in a group while I was in fighting against other people on a bridge. Repeatedly I would fall into the water after being hit by a spear in the arm. I attempted to evade my attackers due to them overrunning my position. The first few times this happened, I tried to hide, however, I had to come up for air. After the third time, I believe, I found a tunnel that lead into a cave that no one was in. There was on entrance along side the bridge I was fighting on top of a cliff. I did not know this until I found the cave, and my enemies could see the entrance I did not know was there while I was on the surface. It was dark, and a table that my dad and I had talked about the day before was laying alongside the water. I hid under it. After a while I left to the tunnel with a bag which I was not shown the contents. A mermaid meet me in this tunnel. She lead me under water and I wasn’t worried about breathing. The mermaid guided me into a house under the water with normal people, however, they brought me odd emotions. It ended with everything turning black and I woke up.

  3. I have recurring dreams about different houses. I’m often taking someone to show them their room, or telling my children where they can sleep. Typically the houses are unusual, but they all have lots of beds in them, however small the house is. I never know the houses very well, and am often discovering new rooms, or floors. The houses are often quite empty except for lots of beds.

I also dream about a house with a strange basement. I’m frightened of it, and when I’ve been down there I can’t find the end. It changes from a multi room empty basement into a strange cave-like place, with no obvious end. There has been water and lava leading down a steep chasm, but I’m only ever looking down it, so I don’t know what’s down there.

I sometimes find myself sat in the hallway or entrance to the house, sitting at the bottom of the staircase up to the bedrooms. I’m always anxious about something, or hiding the weird basement.

The house is usually empty, except for me.

  5. I too had a dream a few nights ago about Caves too, Keara! In the cave dream, I had all of my hoarded junk, in different parts of the cave, all scattered around through the cave, like some crazy hoarder lady, and others were helping me move all of my junk out of those caves, stuff I didn’t even know I actually had anymore, in the dream, a few nights ago, and it was like some cave dig or something like that. I also obviously had an underground apartment/living place, in that underground cave dream, too, that I had totally forgotten about. (I guess the dream was about rediscovering/discovering another time and place/another part of my life, I was not living anymore, maybe?)

    • Hi Alissa,

I’ve had that dream many times. I think it means that you have a lot of emotional baggage that needs to be unpacked/analysed so that you can deal with it and leave it behind. The underground Apartment relates to aspects of yourself that you have not explored and are laying dormant. These could be skills you have that you are not making use of.

      Cheers

  6. This is not my continual dream. My parents divorced over ten years ago, I ve been out of work, for over a year, and now my ill mother has been stuck in my own home, not invited, for the last 6 or so months, on and off.
I keep having the dream , of the house, and/or other building, with the center floor caved in, it can be an upkept house, or an old decrept hunk of junk. You just can’t walk on that part of the floor, or near it, unless you want to fall down deeper.
I was a psychology major, but never finished my degree,,,
I probably already have answered my own question,
but does not, anyone, have this type of dream, of intensity, magnatode,,,
Please, any comment, even rude ones, is appreciated,
    The Wulf,
    Thanks ,,

    • Hi Wulfgar

I am a counsellor who is interested in dream analysis which I think holds the key to many of our problems in life. The house normally represents ourselves in dreams so I get the impression that your parent’s divorce has greatly affected your core (centre). It is so painful that you cannot even address the problem through analysis for the fear of “falling down deeper”. This is the fear of the subconscious and painful memories that you prefer not to think about. I think you know that you do need to “repair your house” before you can go forward and finish your degree. All the best, Jenny

  7. I had a dream that my sister and i were inside a cave. The cave looked like the cave in the childrens story of Ali babba and 40 thieves. It was above ground and had a secret entrance. To open it i pulled on a stone and the face of the cave opened to reveal a door. Once inside the cave had rooms. My sister and i had a room with our jewellery and possesions inside. What does this dream mean?

    • Im definitely no expert at dreams or caves but years past sometimes people were buried in small caves so it probably signifies the afterlife you and your sister will be safe, possessions probably represent all the good things of your lives

  8. I keep having these recurring dreams about me being inside this crowed cave full of people and a mass flood comes in and wipes most of the people out but only a select few survive.
